Eastbourne Community Network
What is Eastbourne Community Network (ECN)?
We are a network of 350+ voluntary organisations and community groups (including sports clubs) based, or offering a service, in the Eastbourne area. We aim to provide a stronger voice for all groups at a local planning and decision-making level and an effective means of communication between groups. This work is funded by the National Lottery by the BIG Lottery fund.
What does ECN do?
- We make links between groups
- We support groups so they can grow and also participate in consultations.
- We share information
- We collect views from a wide range of organisations across Eastbourne.
- We elect community representatives to represent the views of the ECN at the Eastbourne Strategic Partnership and other strategic planning meetings
Membership
Membership is free and open to all voluntary and community groups in Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.
Networking Events
3VA also runs regular topic-based networking events including the Eastbourne Chairs Lunch and Eastbourne Managers’ Lunches. Held conveniently at lunchtime, these popular events provide an important opportunity for local groups to share information, expertise and experience on a variety of issues. These events are free and open to any local group.
Community Representatives
Community Representatives have two roles: to promote the work of the ECN and to participate in meetings of the Eastbourne Strategic Partnership as ECN representatives. There is an annual election process for community representatives and nominations are welcomed from all member groups. Community representatives gather views, issues and concerns of members and ensure that these are taken to the appropriate meeting. They also assist in feeding back information to ECN members.
