Volunteer Centre East Sussex
Volunteer Centre East Sussex (VCES) is a countywide service that is hosted by 3VA.
It is designed to provide support and advice for any group that engages volunteers as well as assisting members of the public to find out more about volunteering opportunities in their local area. We can market and promote your volunteering opportunities and help you identify suitable volunteers, as well as advising on any aspect of volunteer management. We also encourage peer support and collaborative working through our quarterly Volunteer Co-ordinators’ Forums.
VCES has its main office in Eastbourne, but we have a dedicated team of outreach workers covering each of the five districts who act as local volunteering experts. These Volunteering Support Officers can work with you to identify your needs as an organisation and support you to work in line with best practice guidelines around volunteering.
VCES also manages the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Community Volunteers Service which is co-ordinated by Claire Harris. Together, Claire and the VCES team work with ESFRS to recruit and support individuals who are interested in volunteering with the Fire Service to improve community safety.
