The Charities Act 2011 has now received royal assent and will come into force in March 2012. The new Charities Act is an amalgamation and consolidation of existing Acts (the Recreational Charities Act 1958, Charities Act 1993 and the Charities Act 1996), rather than change to charity law but to bring to together for easier use.
