Wealden DC Budget Consultation

Wealden District Council are beginning the consultation on their proposed budget for 2012/13. Key points of relevance to the voluntary and community sector are:

• Continued pay freeze for all staff, except a £250 increase for those on £21,000 or less (point 16)
• A reduction in the "public health and community services" budget absorbed primarily by a halving of the "leisure, sport and play" budget over the next 5 years.
• A £1000 increase in the community grants pot available over the 5 year period
