Joining 3VA is free and the application process is simple. As a 3VA member you can benefit from discounted rates on training and certain services including room and equipment hire as well as photocopying in our Eastbourne office. You will also be added to our online directory of members, which is a great way of advertising who you are and what you do. Members also have an opportunity to influence the work of 3VA including the right to vote at the AGM and stand for election as a trustee.
The information you provide us in the membership application form will help us build a picture of the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in Eastbourne, Lewes and Wealden. With accurate information, we can help you network with other VCS groups and organisations, recommend partners for project work and lobby for issues relevant to the sector. We can also help government bodies to value the sector's role in service delivery and the contribution the VCS makes toward building stronger communities.
Membership is available to not-for-profit voluntary and community groups who are working for the benefit of people in the Eastbourne, Lewes District and Wealden areas. Membership is not available to groups with aims or objectives relating to party politics.
Members must have:
- A clearly defined purpose
- A governing document such as set of rules or a constitution
- A clear decision making mechanism (e.g. a committee)
- Appropriate financial records and a bank account in the name of the group or organisation with two unrelated signatories
- All necessary insurances, such as public liability insurance
- All necessary policies such as child protection, confidentiality, equal opportunities
- Commitment to 3VA's Statement of Values & Equality

How to apply
Complete the membership application form and send to email@example.com. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. 3VA's Board of Trustees will consider applications for membership at its next quarterly meeting. We will write to let you know the outcome of your application.
Updating your details
Once a year we ask all members to check we hold the right details for them. This information is used to update our online members' directory, as well as helping us to understand your current needs and priorities so that we can support you in the best possible way. If your contact details change in any way, please contact us.
