3VA to Launch New Project Management Course

Would you like to improve the quality of your project design and management, increase your chances of securing funding for your project and learn a range of practical tools to support your project work? Our brand new Project Management course is designed with the voluntary and community sector in mind. Participants taking the course will develop skills to help them become more efficient in designing and delivering projects. This course was developed based on your feedback that we gathered over the last year through our annual membership renewal, training feedback forms and our group support work. The main focus of the course is to equip and empower you with enhanced designing and management tools as well as techniques to help you make your project relevant, feasible and sustainable, which are the main attributes that funders are looking for in grant applications. Book now - the course begins on 3 October and places are limited.

Postcode Community Trust Grants

Postcode Community Trust (PCT) was established in 2014 and focuses on initiatives that benefit communities through grass-roots sports, arts, recreation and wellbeing programmes which improve a community's physical and mental health. PCT provides funding opportunities to community groups and charities in Scotland, England and Wales, through grants ranging from £500 - £20,000 (or up to £10,000 in Wales). PCT aims to fund projects that enhance community cohesion through activities that bring people together and enhance a community’s identity. Grass-roots sports, arts and recreation projects that help bring people together and relieve isolation are all things that PCT wants to support. In addition PCT wants to improve the overall health and wellbeing of communities through exercise, counselling and training. Projects should help people gain better access to community facilities, community activities and strengthen communities in ways that are different, sustainable and reach a wide number of people.

Postcode Community Trust provides funding for activities that:

  • Promote team/group sports and activities at a grass-roots level;
  • Provide or enhance places for sports and recreation;
  • Promote community arts projects;
  • Work in innovative ways to relieve older or disabled people’s isolation within their communities;
  • Improve the health statistics of a community through, for example: First aid courses, Exercise, Mental health awareness or counselling, First Responders

The next round of funding will be available from August 15-28 2017. Application forms will be available from this date.
