The State of Care in General Practice 2014 to 2017
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England that is responsible for monitoring and inspecting services to ensure they are providing care that is safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well-led. This includes all NHS services, hospitals, GP practices, dentists, independent providers, care homes and domiciliary care agencies. The CQC recently published its report The state of care in general practice 2014 to 2017, which gives the most detailed analysis yet of the quality and safety of general medical practice in England.
CQC Stakeholder Briefing – East Sussex County Council
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) announced in July that it would conduct local system reviews of health and social care in 12 areas across the country – one of which is East Sussex. These local system reviews will look at how people move across the interface between health and social care, including delayed transfers of care, with a particular focus on people over 65 years old. The review will not include mental health services or specialist commissioning, but will use case tracking to look at the experiences of
people living with dementia as they move through the system. The reviews will also look at commissioning across health and social care, and assess the governance in place for managing resources. For the full briefing, please view the attached PDF document.

Locally, East Sussex Public Health is working closely with the new integrated lifestyle service One You East Sussex and local partners to provide additional publicity around the county.
