GDPR Hotline to Open from 1 November

Smaller charities employing fewer than 250 people will be able to make use of a new telephone advice service about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), run by the Information Commissioner’s Office, from 1 November.

Pregnancy Discrimination at Work

Citizens Advice Eastbourne set up an online survey to find out about women's experiences when pregnant at work and it received a number of responses. A report on Pregnancy Discrimination at Work has now been produced which explains the impact on the clients Citizens Advice Eastbourne has advised and makes recommendations on how to support women to receive their rights. Citizens Advice Eastbourne will continue to publicise this subject and raise awareness within the Eastbourne community and business sector.

Managing-Bipolar CIC Needs Your Votes!

Managing-Bipolar CIC is asking for your vote! Can you please support them by voting with the Aviva Community Fund that they have applied to? Voting started last week and ends at noon on 21 November 2017. Managing-Bipolar CIC desperately needs your votes. Without this funding their whole future is at risk.

A limited number of 40-minute pre-application advice sessions, for groups which have not had one before, will take place during office hours at Wadhurst this Thursday 2 November (am). (NB: Disabled access is through the main hall). Sessions must be booked in advance and are to directly discuss a drafted application for your organisation. To book, please contact Michelle Gray by email at Michelle.Gray@wealden.gov.uk or telephone on 01323 443 520.  If you are unable to attend one of the sessions and can submit your application by 15 November at the latest, some feedback before the closing date can be given so that applications can be strengthened (although please note that this will not guarantee success). Funds must be spent within the financial year April 2018-March 2019 for capital and small grants, and April 2018 – March 2021 for SLAs.
