Charity Insurance with Reid Briggs Pays Back
The Big Event was enjoyable and beneficial for Reid Briggs Insurance Brokers to be part of as sponsor, forging new connections and strengthening existing ones. The 2017 theme of Collaboration and Partnerships: Together for a Purpose tied in nicely with the anniversary of Reid Briggs’ successful partnership with Lisa Smart, founder of Happy Paws Puppy
Rescue. Reid Briggs’ Affinity Scheme helps charities generate extra income when their supporters buy their home, pet, motor, travel, any insurance policies from Reid Briggs. It makes sense because insurance is something we buy anyway. Supporters of Lisa’s charity have, for the past year, been able to arrange their various insurances through Reid Briggs. Each policy generates a 5% commission for Happy Paws. Reid Briggs recently presented Lisa with a cheque and Lisa has been able to use these funds to help save more abandoned dogs and find new loving homes in the UK. Reid Briggs is seeking additional charities to pair with. Could your supporters help your charity generate additional revenue like Lisa? For further
information about this or any other charity insurance needs, contact Keely Featherstone, Charities Insurance Manager, on 01323 438 843 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
16 Days of Action and White Ribbon Campaign 2017
The 16 Days of Action for the Elimination of Violence against Women run from 25 November (the UN International Day of Elimination of Violence against Women) to the 10 December (Human Rights Day). Over 16 days, a range of agencies, groups and individuals are coming together to work to end all forms of violence against women. This includes awareness raising, making sure people know where to go for help and support, sharing stories about people's experiences, recovery and work, as well as hosting a comedy night to raise funds for local services. The 16 Days of Action also include other significant dates like World Aids Day (1 December), as well as the White Ribbon Campaign, which calls on
men to make a pledge to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence and abuse. You can find out more about the 16 Days of Action, the White Ribbon Campaign and the events running across East Sussex on the East Sussex Safer Communities website.

Does Your Organisation Have a Volunteering Opportunity for a Student in Lewes?
Volunteer Centre East Sussex has been contacted by a school in Lewes to ask for assistance in finding some volunteering opportunities for one of their students. The student is 15 years old and the school describes him as having ‘good communication skills and working well with adults. He is interested in computer games/gaming and is applying to Sussex Downs College for a place on their Software & Games Development course. He struggles with some aspects of the school curriculum and enjoys a more practical approach. He can be pleasant and polite’. If you feel that your organisation would like to discuss the possibility of a volunteering opportunity for this student, please
contact Lee Shepherd at email@example.com and Lee will put you in touch with the school.
