File Your Annual Return Now
Charities with financial years ending on 31 March 2017 have less than four weeks to go before the final deadline to file their annual return. By law, these charities must submit a return by 31 January 2018, no later than 10 months after the end of their financial year. Thousands of charities have already filed their returns but there are still many that have not. They run the risk of trying to file nearer to deadline day without the correct documentation or, crucially, the password they need to access the online service and then going into default. To avoid the possibility of this happening, file your annual return for 2017 now.
Showcase Your Group at Hailsham Forward’s Community Groups Forum
The Community Groups Forum (a Hailsham Forward initiative), facilitated by Jenny Seale and Julie Coates (Hailsham Foodbank), is a group of representatives of local clubs, groups, societies that meet once a month to swap news, views and ideas to get better at attracting new members, retaining existing members, getting help from volunteers, raising funds for local good causes and lots more. The Forum will be hosting a big free event on Saturday, 27 January, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in Hailsham Parish Church and lounge at which groups can come and showcase their club or business that people can join. This is not a fundraising event, it is an awareness raising showcase. Would you like to attend?
All the Community Groups Forum asks in return is that you publicise the event across as many resources and social media as you are connected to, all your current members, friends, family etc. If you would like to put on a show of what you do as well, the organisers will try accommodate you. There are a limited number of tables, but lots of space. If you are unable to send a representative on the day, it’s also possible for the Forum to put out some promotional material on your behalf subject to space. Please let Jenny Seale know by Friday, 19 January if your organisation would like to take part. An organisation is also needed that would like to run the kitchen. Contact Jenny Seale at firstname.lastname@example.org.
