This month's features...

Introducing the New Guide to Supporting Intergenerational Projects
Using experience gained from working on two exciting intergenerational projects in the Langney Ward of Eastbourne, 3VA's Chances4Change project has produced a new guide - Intergenerational Opportunities – Supporting an Intergenerational Project. The guide's aim is to share experience, outlining a process that worked well and illustrating these by using a series of top tips, examples and quotes. This guide is useful to anyone who works within an institution such as a school or a care home and to anyone else wishing to broker links between two or more institutions or groups. Read more…

How to Retain More Volunteers
Having worked hard to recruit volunteers, the next challenge is working out how to keep them involved. This workshop will take an easy-to-follow, step by step guide to developing the most effective messages and support systems to motivating volunteers within your organisation. It will also examine potential ways of redeploying volunteers in flexible, non-traditional roles that are responsive to both volunteers’ needs and the needs of your group and how to recognise when it might be time to ’let go’! NEWS

Ambitions (East Sussex) to Come to an End

Services commissioned by East Sussex County Council (ESCC) are periodically reviewed and re-evaluated and, regretfully, we have been informed that ESCC has taken the decision to no longer fund the Ambitions service. Run by Southdown, Ambitions (East Sussex) provides support for carers of adults to achieve their vocational aspirations. It will come to an end on Friday, 30 March 2018. Clients will continue to be supported until the end of March 2018, however the service that can now be offered to new referrals will by necessity be limited. At present, Southdown has received no confirmation of what services will be continuing beyond the end of March, but if you are working with carers please continue to refer them to Care for the Carers for support in their caring roles.

LGBT Awareness Training from Allsorts Youth Project

Allsorts Youth Project’s Education & Training Service provides training, workshops, consultancy and advice for professionals and young people on a range of issues relating to sexual orientation, gender identity and specifically LGBTU issues. The training and workshops can be tailored to the needs of any organisation that is looking to have a better understanding of LGBT issues. For more information, please contact Allsorts Youth Project at education@allsortsyouth.org.uk
