Sussex Clubs for Young People with the support of Simon Stanley are running 2 part course on 'How to run a Youth Club' in partnership with the Sylvia Beaufoy Centre. You must be able to attend both sessions. COURSE TUTOR Simon Stanley is the Targeted Youth Services Team Coordinator for East Sussex Children’s Services and he is an experienced youth worker. Simon started his youth work career as a volunteer in a youth club in Crewe and then started helping the local YMCA. He has worked in Wales and with West Kent YMCA. He is now based in Eastbourne. Simon tells us that: I am passionate about youth work, the impact it can have on the lives of young people and the difference it can make especially in this environment of diminishing resources. Multiple topics will be covered on the 2 evenings (set out below). TUESDAY 28TH MAY -What is a Youth Worker and history of Youth Work -Planning and delivering activities & reviewing -Roles & Boundaries within Youth Work -Development of young people WEDNESDAY 29TH MAY -Teamwork -Managing challenging behaviour -The importance of Child Protection incl.
