To meet the demands for advice and overcome the increasing difficulties in getting the funds they need to operate their free advice service, Citizens Advice Eastbourne has created a new volunteer role and is seeking applicants to become Fundraising Activities Volunteers. Alan Bruzon, Chief Executive said: “As a local charity, serving the community of Eastbourne for over 50 years, we are responsible for raising our own funds. However, it costs money to deliver this service, and each year we start with a short-fall in funding. This is why we need help. We want to establish a team of volunteers who will represent us at local community and fundraising events; carrying out activities such as bucket collections, tombola stalls, bag packs etc. All money raised will go towards our core general advice service.” The role will suit anyone who enjoys getting out in the community, meeting new people and making a difference. Successful applicants will need to be available 1-3 days a month to attend events and regular catch up meetings with other volunteers. This is a new volunteer role and as such offers an exciting opportunity to create a lasting contribution to a much-needed local charity. Anyone interested in the role can express interest via Citizens Advice Eastbourne’s ‘Volunteer’ page on their website: www.eastbournecab.co.uk . Or contact Jodi Truss, Office Manager, on 01323 413480 or email: email@example.com.
