Do you have a good idea for making your area a better place to live?
Across East Sussex, small voluntary and community organisations are doing what our sector has always been good at: spotting gaps, trying out new and innovative ways of tackling problems and doing it all on a small budget. Now there is a fund from East Sussex County Council which is designed to help support innovation by small groups and communities. Grants of up to £1,500 are available.
Building Stronger Communities grants are aimed at small organisations who have a good idea that would benefit the area where they live and need a small amount of money to get it off the ground. It is available across the whole of East Sussex.
The fund is particularly targeted at supporting people and groups to build on their strengths and talents to make their communities better places to live. It is available for new activities. If you want funding for an existing activity, then you will need to show how you are developing it in a new direction.
Groups of individuals or small community organisations (with an income of under £50,000 per year) are eligible to apply. You do not have to have a bank account as your local voluntary action (3VA, HVA or RVA) may be willing to hold the funds for you). You do not have to be a constituted group or registered charity to apply.
The application form is short and easy to fill in. You can find the application form and guidance notes online. Call or email us to have a chat about your idea.
If you would like a copy of the publicity leaflet or poster sent to someone in your community, let us know: email@example.com.
