This Dementia Awareness Week, 14-20 May, Alzheimer’s Society is asking everyone to unite against dementia. Dementia is set to be the 21st century's biggest killer. But awareness and understanding remains low and many families are facing it alone.
That’s why, during the week, it's important for everyone to come together and take action. By uniting, we can raise awareness, offer help and understanding, improve care and urgently ﬁnd a cure. There are plenty of ways you can support the week - everyone in Eastbourne, Lewes and Wealden can play a part by attending any one of a number of free events including:
The Eastbourne Dementia Action Alliance will be launching at the Arndale Centre on Tuesday, 16 May and Wednesday, 17 May from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. For more information, please email email@example.com.
1. Cllr Esther Watts is running a Dementia Friends session at Lewes Town Hall on Friday, 12 May at 12:30 pm in the Yarrow Room at Lewes Town Hall.
2. On Saturday, 13 May from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Lewes Football Grounds the Lewes & District Dementia Action Alliance will have these activities in or near to the ‘Dementia Friendly Zone’ during the Every Sort of people festival event: Wet on Wet craft activities, Tai chi taster sessions, performances from the Dot Collective and a stall with information.
