Thought to be one of Britain’s largest lecture societies with approximately 1,700 members, Eastbourne Ashridge Circle was formed in 1947 and has developed over seven decades into a prestigious lecture society. Membership is available to anyone subject to capacity. The Circle’s objective is to promote good citizenship through the holding of lectures on a diverse range of subjects aimed at enhancing knowledge of the world, both past and present. Mutual friendliness and sociability are the society’s watchwords and formality is kept to a minimum.
A registered charity, Eastbourne Dementia Action Alliance aims to make Eastbourne a dementia friendly town and to support people living with dementia and their carers by signposting them to information and choices about different dementia-friendly activities and where they can go for help and support.
Holding Space in Eastbourne aims to provide a safe space for families going through the mental ill health journey. The group provides education workshops, access to support, information and therapy.
